Quality Assurance Policy

The Master’s Program (MSc) in “Web Intelligence”  is committed to implementing a quality policy that supports academic excellence and the program’s orientation, focusing on the systematic assurance, improvement, and enhancement of its quality. It promotes the purpose and objectives of the program, implements its strategic goals, determines the means and methods of achieving them, and aims for continuous improvement to adapt to modern academic and research conditions.

Specifically, the quality assurance policy of the MSc in “Intelligent Internet Technologies,” directly connected to and an integral part of the Institution’s Strategy, is based on the following pillars:

  • Digital Transformation
  • Creation and development of study programs oriented to the needs of the market and entrepreneurship
  • Internationalization
  • Enhancement of research and innovation through the attraction of new researchers
  • Strengthening the social role of the International University of Greece

To achieve the above strategic goals, the MSc in “Intelligent Internet Technologies” is committed to implementing quality processes fully aligned with the Institution’s quality action axes and goals. These processes demonstrate and ensure:

  • Suitability of the structure and organization of the postgraduate program.
  • Pursuit of learning outcomes and qualifications in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education at level 7.
  • Promotion of the quality and effectiveness of teaching in the MSc program.
  • Suitability of the qualifications of the teaching staff for the MSc program.
  • Formulation, implementation, and review of specific annual quality targets to improve the MSc program.
  • Demand for the acquired skills of graduates in the job market.
  • Quality of supporting services, such as administrative services, libraries, and student support services for the MSc program.
  • Efficient utilization of the financial resources of the MSc program derived from tuition fees.
  • Conducting annual internal assessment and review of the quality assurance system for the MSc programs in collaboration with the Academic Departments Quality Assurance Units and the Institutional Quality Assurance Unit.

More specifically, the quality policy of the MSc aims to produce and disseminate interdisciplinary knowledge and high-level skills in the field of education, with an emphasis on utilizing new technologies to explore and apply innovative teaching approaches in the educational fields it encompasses. The main focus is on scientific developments related to new technologies and skills as they relate to their utilization in the learning process. Three Strategic Goals have been defined in accordance with the quality orientation of the MSc:

  • Competitiveness of the postgraduate study program.
  • Enhancement of teaching work.
  • Excellence of postgraduate students.

These goals are analyzed into specific quality objectives, controlled by measurable indicators within a specific timeline, and implemented through proposed actions, activities, and corresponding responsibilities. This process includes:

  1. Continuous review regarding the suitability of the structure and organization of the postgraduate study program, adapting and reforming it accordingly.
  2. Mapping, shaping, and specifying the specific learning objectives for each cognitive field of the MSc and their connection to the qualification list according to the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education at level 7.
  3. Continuous adaptation of teaching staff to scientific developments and improvement of their skills, educational abilities, and qualifications, focusing on the continuous promotion of excellence and effectiveness in teaching work.
  4. Enhancement, facilitation, and promotion of the connection between the research process and teaching through the adaptation of part of the courses to the presentation, study, and analysis of research examples.
  5. Frequent review, assessment, and internal evaluation of the quality assurance system of the MSc, as well as close collaboration between the Academic Departments Quality Assurance Units and the Institutional Quality Assurance Unit, aiming for a continuous assessment, evaluation, and feedback process between the pursued goals and achieved results.
  6. Regular assessment and reformulation of the MSc study program, aiming to create a suitable course structure that responds to current developments in the field of new technologies and skills in education.
  7. Continuous promotion and reinforcement of the international recognition of the MSc through the use of international standards in the course outlines of the study program.
  8. Utilization of the teaching staff’s evaluation process by students as part of the connection between internal evaluation and the process of redesigning the offered courses.
  9. Creative use of external evaluation recommendations.
  10. Broad, effective, and targeted use of electronic services and support means used for the collaboration of the teaching staff and the student population of the MSc within the framework of the courses.
  11. Innovative orientation of the MSc in terms of methodological innovation, as well as in terms of courses related to significant areas of the job market.
